WEIRDFACTS / HISTORY2026

Site updates

A dated record of how weirdfacts has changed, from the first fact card to today.

17 update datesBack to home
  1. v7.7Current

Archive redesign for Home and Facts

Home and Facts now open on a field of archive boxes with glass specimen slides. Each fact has a file number, rises from the archive and turns to face you before its photo clears, with the photo credit travelling on the card. A warm palette and Geist type now apply across the site; Study, Play and account pages keep their current layouts.

  2. v7.6

Mock exams unlock after 30 questions

Pass any 30 eligible Year 12 foundation practice questions in a subject to unlock its mock exams. The same threshold now applies to Methods, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Specialist Mathematics. Sign-in and account progress are still required; Play questions do not count.

  3. v7.5

Release history brought up to date

Added the missing Study and Play release notes, with a separate entry for each update.

  4. v7.4

    Shorter tactical boosts

Boost now lasts 3 seconds and Freeze lasts 2 seconds in both Intro and Challenge. Reward descriptions match the new durations.

  5. v7.3

    Challenge mode

Fast runners, swarms and elites arrive in five varied waves with previews. Tighter resources reward careful building and upgrades; wrong answers require review and retry. The final Boss summons reinforcements and speeds up at low health.

  6. v7.2

    Questions with less clutter

Simplified the Play question panel to focus on the question, choices and progress. Explanations remain available after each answer.

  7. v7.1

    A dedicated Play question bank

240 multiple-choice questions cover Mathematical Methods and Chemistry, Years 11–12. Three questions prepare each wave, with one optional rescue question during battle. Play progress stays separate from course completion.

  8. v7.0

    Specialist assumed knowledge

Added assumed-knowledge guidance to Specialist Mathematics lessons, including Year 11 prerequisites.

  9. v6.9

    Consistent completion marks

Completed syllabus items now show their checkmark on the left across all subjects.

  10. v6.8

    Less background work

Reduced unnecessary rendering and background activity across Play, the Study toolkit and account updates.

  11. v6.7

    Even radial-menu spacing

Adjusted the deployment wheel so the gaps between its three sectors stay even.

  12. v6.6

    Deploy from a socket

Click a socket to open a radial menu, choose a unit or manage an existing tower.

  13. v6.5

    Toolkit on widescreen

Adapted the Study toolkit layout for 16:9 screens.

  14. v6.4

    Play on widescreen

Adjusted the game board and controls for 16:9 displays and smaller screens.

  15. v6.3

    Health at a glance

Renamed Core to Health, added a heart icon and removed the bottom socket strip. Restart is available from the pause menu.

  16. v6.2

    A clearer defence desk

Reduced interface copy and gave Credits, Health and Wave clearer visual priority.

  17. v6.1

    Typography in tune

Aligned the update timeline typography and spacing with the rest of weirdfacts.

  18. v6.0

    Smoother glass cards

Removed the two-stage appearance of Fact glass cards so their depth appears in one continuous entrance.

  19. v5.7–v5.9

    A timeline for every update

The author note now opens this animated release history, with version numbers in v1.2 format. The Study toolkit also received interaction and styling refinements.

  20. v5.6

    A fuller Study toolkit

39 QCAA-oriented notes across five subjects, the restored wide toolkit case, and clearer Study practice, review and game feedback.

  21. v5.2–v5.5

Specialist Mathematics lessons and mock papers, plus exam reports, targeted revision and account cloud saves.

  24. v4.0–v4.4

    Biology joins Study
